The "homeless" guy that panhandles at the beltway intersection nearest my house walks a block away after the evening rush, gets in his truck, and goes home...... Don't believe everything you read on a cardboard sign.....

Right but I think the QOL as of RIGHT NOW according to crime, transit, beauty is really low for Houston... Right now...

But I always assumed that QOL was the ratio of how low living costs are and how high and individuals income is....

And it seems that Forbes made that list solely based on financial information and not on 'entertainment options', 'number of bars/clubs' etc.
which are quite important for young proffesionals

It was a lot, but not all financial / economy. However, if you want "entertainment options" lists, I'm sure there's another one for that. Vegas is probably toward the top... have at it.

QOL of is way more than incomes and entertainment. These surveys look at the whole gamut of things that make a city great:

"Important criteria are safety, education, hygiene, health care, culture, environment, recreation, political-economic stability and public transportation."

World's most livable cities - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

BTW: Vancouver was recently rated Number one in the world, not that that equates directly to "best city for a young professional."
