What is the better Internet provider of the two available in the area? I'm looking at the 15 Mbps packages for both, and the prices are fairly similar. However roadrunners's 15mbps is because of the their power boost technology that I've yet tried.... Any experiences on it?

What's is the more reliable connection? Consistent?

Are you in a Verizon FiOS community? From north Texas comments, I take it that those who have FiOS prefer it to anybody's cable.

We have Fios in Clear Lake and League City. No complaints for the last year and a half.

Verizon is the local exchange carrier for some communities outside DFW and the old Bell Atlantic territory as Margarita Salt indicates, but is why I asked about his locality.

Verizon has a presence in some parts of LA - Long Beach, Rancho Crazymother, Thousand Bucks. Also, Everett WA, San Angelo TX, Tampa/St. Pete and used to have properties is the mid-west like Indiana, Ohio, southern Illinois, Minnesota but many of those properties have been ditched or otherwise sold off. Those properties are former GTE Telephone which merged with Bell Atlantic to form Verizon. I was working for GTE at the time of the merger and for a few years more. Mostly with internet and broadband and finally with the initial FiOS roll out and call center.

Any way, about the OP, I would have explained those availabilities and his option of AT&T uVerse.

Roadrunner is available in Houston? Isn't that a TimeWarner product? TimeWarner left this market a few years ago and now its Comcast.
