Hi everyone. I've messaged some of you directly about our relocation. But now after all our house hunting, it is down to these two homes. One is in Shadow Creek Ranch and the other is in West Oaks. West Oaks is the first subdivision off of Broadway between W. Oaks Blvd and Harkey Rd.Very close to Carleston Elem. We have seen both of these homes and love both! . Do have 3 boys(high school and elementary). Commute to work is the same from either house as well. I noticed that Shadow Creek Ranch is a newer area with close shopping areas and community pools ect.. But again, we loved both homes so it being newer would not be a major decision maker. West Oaks is a few minutes from several parks in that area as well. We are not from Pearland so know nothing about either area.
Any information you can give me would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance.

Just curious if you checked out Lakes at Countryplace? I have found Lakes to be the nicest after house hunting since December. The HOA is high, but actually its cheaper to live there then Shadow Creek Ranch. Reason is Lakes tax rate is 2.6 while SCR is 3.4. Plus at lakes you get a gated community with an armed guard, nice pool/clubhouse, work out facilities and a nice golf course. Only 1 road to get in and out of the community.
Shadow Creek was the first area I looked at and from what the realtors and others told me they have a lot of break in's in that neighborhood and there are a ton of foreclosed homes. Not sure about the other neighborhood you are interested in.

I think I may have told you this already in a private reply, but remember that those two houses are in different school districts. West Oaks is Pearland ISD and the house in SCR is in Alvin ISD. If you are going to use public education for your sons, you may want to check out the differences in those school districts, to help in your decision.
