Default You have my sympathies (seriously)

This won't help you I'm afraid, but I used Bellaire Barber Shop for many, many years before moving from that area to the burbs. Personal barbers. Appointments. No sports TV or other nonsense. It was probably the hardest thing to give up in the move and I'm still looking for a suitable replacement.

I wish there was a Google search that would locate businesses like this.

Try the Mens Barber Shop on Westihmer about on mile west of Highway 6. It is just an old time barber shop with old barbers that have been there forever. They even still use the lather and shave the back of your neck. This is something that none of the fancy shops do anymore (it is a guy thing - women dont understand it).

Germains Hair, 10321 IH10 between Beltway and Gessner, in the same strip mall as Jason's Deli. Small, simple but always very busy due to good service. Not sure how much though, better google phone # and call.

You can get old time prices in the Katy area - on Mason Road - the east side of Mason - south of Kingsland - there is a place where men's cuts are $3.99.

These are fast in and out places - there are quite a few of these scattered across the metro area - all of them in less glitzy commercial strips - as best as I can tell all run by Vietnamese folks. Can't beat the price. I get a #3 short cut all over - and I enjoy getting it done for this price.

Default Katy proper...

There are a few in Katy proper. One comes to mind on HWY 90, in the same strip center as Los Cucos. There is also one on Pin Oak, and a few more in Katy proper now that I think of it.

This is a cool thread. Ok. Ok. I like it. Really, are there good barbershops for this black boy here? I need a cut every once in a while, and are they cheap, cause I don't want to be paying 30$ for a haircut. That's a no-no sir.

Doug's Barbershop on 11th between Harvard and Cortland. Was $8 for the longest time - I think he's gone up to $10 or $12 now. You can still get a hot straight razor shave too. Been a while since I've been there.
