Thanks Alex! I did the same a while back. Trader Joes is a great urban citizen designing smaller stores in urban areas with extremely competitive pricing. I doubt they will ever come here thanks to the competition of Central Market and Whole Foods.

I think Trader Joe's will. People are always comparing Houston to Atlanta (I hate when people do that), and Atlanta has a bunch of Trder Joe's. So maybe the company will see the similarities between the two and decide whether or not they will expand to Houston, IMO.

The problem is Whole Foods is HQ in Texas with alot more stores here than Atlanta. There is nothing there for them to compete against.

I'd rather have the Whole Foods they are scheduling to build at Waugh and Dallas be placed here instead. Wouldn't mind TJ either but WF is more likely.

Atlanta has 8 Whole Foods while Houston has 5. Look at their website.

They just confirmed the SuperCenter at Silber today. It would be very strange to build one in the Heights now...

Also, Walmart isn't what that MarqE area needs either. It's already pretty rough right there. It will back to some 500k townhouses (say goodbye to that price and hello Walmart pricing) and the Awty school.
