I am considering signing a contract with Terminax for pest control and termite protection (the ultimate plan). I will get routine pest treatment every 90 days with the first treatmnt being inside and outside treatment. All future treatments are outside only unless I ask. I can call anytime for additional inside or outside treatment at no additional cost. Th total cost for this packet is $600 a year.

Question? What is your experince with Teriminax? Is th price ok or I'm being a sucker?

I'd say it just depends on your experience with bugs! When I was growing up we had our house sprayed about once a year and that seemed to do the trick. Once every 3 months seems excessive, but if that's what you need in your area that's what I'd get.

They are the most high-priced in the city. Get a couple of other quotes. People misunderstand termites. It's not like they are going to swarm the house and eat it in a month. While you have another termite company out, ask them what to look for (tunnels, etc.) and take a walk around your property at least once a month. Usually termite damage occurs only after they have been chewing on the house for awhile. Even if termites are found during a home inspection during the option period, it's not the end-all. A termite treatment is done and damage checked for - usuallly there is very, very little. If more damage is found, those bugs have been there for quite awhile - and it would then have to be evaluated as to going forward, based on the extent. People like Terminax scare people into paying $50 monthly. It's a great racket.

I just signed up with PestBear for $340 yearly for the exact same service you're getting. Had similar quotes from Bugs, Inc. and the Bug Reaper as well.

The big co's like Terminix and Orkin are HUGE ripoffs.

I cancelled their contract so fast! What a rip-off. Our interior treatment, consisted of the guy putting a packet of stuff under each sink. Done!!!!!!!!
Exterior, he would show up...spend 20 minutes sitting in his truck in the driveway and 5-10 minutes walking around the house spritizing here or there.
