The deals you find at HEB you would never find at Publix. Publix has a great deli and good grocery atmosphere and that is all.

I've never gone to an HEB, so I can't compare the two. I do know that Publix is on the expensive side and tends to locate in more wealthy areas. I agree that they do have a great deli and a good atmosphere. Their stores are clean and smell fresh.

It hasn't even made it to Mississippi yet. So, Spade, it is very easy to predict that.

Publix will never come to Houston..they will get smacked around..bad...just ask Albertsons.....Publix works in Florida because they dont have any competetion other than wynn dixie...no other grocery store chain is located in florida....walmart isnt a big player in florida like they are in Houston, because they dont have nearly as many locations

Here in Alabama, we have a lot of different grocery stores. We have Kroger, Piggly Wiggly, Bruno's, Food World, Winn Dixie, Wal Mart, Super Target, and Publix all located in one metro. I don't understand how all those different stores survive together.

I am a FL native and a former Publix cashier when I was in college. Publix has no competitors in FL because they completely wiped them out with their amazing customer service and the way they treat their employees with upmost respect. Sweet Bay, Winn Dixie, and Albertsons are almost totally gone because of Publix growth.

Anyway, Publix is not in any state west of the mississippi river...they are South East chain and will probably stay that way (unfortunately)

Never say never. I wouldn't be surprised if they somehow made their way out here

Yeah, especially since y'all are undergoing some major retail expansions; I wouldn't be surprised, but Publix has to, first, make it to Mississippi.
