I was thinking. Is Brookshire being dramatically affected by Houston/Katy's growth westward?

It is only logical that Brookshire will grow as the Greater Houston area continues its westward expansion. Just look at how The Woodlands and Conroe have grown and prospered with the northern expansion.

Besides housing, how has it benefited or changed?

I do not live in or near Brookshire but I am sure there is going to be more traffic and eventually more housing and retail development over the next 20 years. Again, I am not a Brookshire resident. I am just speaking logically. I only fly through Brookshire on my way to San Antonio. I do not even stop in Brookshire for anything. I do not have anything against Brookshire. A&M, where in Texas do you live? Have you ever been to Houston? I am not trying to come off as facetious. I am just curious. By the way, thanks for the rep.
