Did anyone install a lawn drip irrigation?
It is not traditional sprinklers, it's a buried network of PVC piping with direct dripping to flower beds and/or all around the lawn.

If you did, please refer me to a company or a kit that you have installed. How much did it cost? How big are the savings?

I have an impression that this system will save a few bucks in a long run. And it is fully automated too.

Thank you for the links. They however describe the drip systems for flowers, etc. and not the lawn. The lawn is a little different.

First, they use a herbicide-treated tubing to make sure the roots will not damage thin PVC tubing. Then the pipe network is buried at about 4in below the ground and 16-18 in strands apart. And many other details.

The lawn drip irrigation system was approved just recently. Unlike the flower/tree drip, which was there a long time. Primarily because they did not know how to protect the pipes from growing roots and how to protect underground sprinkler nozzles from clogging with soil.

Rainwater/rainbarrel + drip irrigation = free watering.

I came across this video. A local company seem to make this combination. One can copy some of their ideas (overflow control, debris control, flat buried water tanks, etc)

Here is a video.

I am also considering a design of a rainbarrel + drip irrigation + solar panel and battery/water pump = free water AND free electricity.
