Not stressed. But if anything, it's traffic.

Whatever stress I feel has little to do with Houston and more to do with raising teenagers.

I'm stressed about:
- Houston vs. "insert other city"
- the Heights Walmart
- the best burger chain
- illegal immigration
- the census monitoring my every move
- my parents having to evacuate form a hurricane while living in Spring

Honestly, if you just make it public knowledge that you don't answer business calls after 6:30 pm or on vacation or on the weekends, I think most people would be less stressed. People work 24/7 now and honestly have less chance of prosperity than the previous generation that never used technology.

I only respond "the world is on fire" emails after hours. Doesn't mean I don't check them though.

Cell phones and Texting make it impossible to wind down.

The "People" you're talking about = a select group of people. The rest of us leave their work at work and their home at home, and are still more prosperous than our parents were, even in the same business. I'll even go out on a limb and say something definitely wrong if you can't be more 'prosperous' than your parents in this country.

But back to the topic-- For the 90% of us in the middle, I'm guessing the stress factor might have more to do with outsiders moving here in droves. If they were previously unemployed they might be on a budget, in an unfamiliar & gigantic place, away from family, with long(er) work hours, with (probably) worse traffic, etc. For us natives, all of this is either old hat or does not apply.

On the other hand, these subjective type surveys are usually flawed therefore worthless.

I was stressed before I moved back here. I was so stressed that I got crippling headaches everyday for a week at a time. I have been here 3 months now and I have not gotten one headache since.

I am telling you those list people seem to think that things bother us more here than they possibly could.

They are like "you guys have such big houses, it must be so stressful keeping it in order"
