Can anyone recommend a Vietnamese restaurant or market that I could purchase Summer Rolls or French Sandwiches? I have a friend in San Antonio who is Vietnamese and is craving authentic foods which she claims is hard to find out there. I would like to purchase and take to her on an upcoming trip. Thanks for the help!

Don Cafe 9300 blk Bellaire Blvd. Great Vietnamese Sandwiches. And anything they sell is excellent to be honest.

Tiem Hinh Banh Mi sandwiches is the best hands down. Right off of Bellaire behind Hong Kong City Mall.

I tried doing a quick Google search online & can't find it anywhere. Its one of those type places where you gotta hunt for it unless you already known where it is.

Givrals on Bellaire Blvd, you can take them inside of Hong Kong City mall and there's plenty to choose from there that are good.

I second Givrals on Bellaire blvd. They are by far the BEST banh mis in town, and I have tried many of them. Nothing can possibly beat the banh mi with chargrilled pork/beef and EGG!!!

As a rule of thumb stay away from most places that sell banh mis outside of Bellaire or the Scarsdale area because they will be overpriced and will not have much meat.

Im not as familiar with the bellaire areas of town, but I know that there are several vietnamese resteraunts right in downtown, in the midtown area, on fannin or main streets. I know theres one (kim tai) at fannin and Mcgowen, where you could chill and eat with a great view of the skyline. And theres another one within walkings distance named little saigon they all are within walking distance of each other, I ate at one the other day, and it was good and cheap, nothing over like 8 bucks. I have only tried one of them tho, but I bet that one of these resteraunts will have whatever you're looking for, and in a great location

Thien Thanh on Bellaire, across from Hong Kong Market, is known for banh cuon. Everything at Thien An on Travis (downtown) is delicious, including their sandwiches.
