Does anyone know of a really good housekeeper or house keeping service in the Alief/Meadows area? This will be our first time having a housekeeper come in and I really would like to have some suggestions. None of my neighbors have housekeepers, so asking them is out. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Hoping to hire someone to start next week.

@ Bily - I don't speak Spanish, but my husband does. So that's not a problem.

@ Lizzy - Can you send me his info?

Call Merry Maids. They're very reliable. Others will say they suck however. YMMV.

Actually that might be a place to start. They are more expensive, but if you like how one of them works, ask them privately if they would like to work for you.

My housekeeper works for a company that charges $125 for a home my size. But she does my house on the weekends for $75. Why? She makes more "on her own" than with the company. But the company provides her with bennies and steady income.

Thats been my experience. Private parties who have proved themselves will charge less. But ensure they are bonded and you have a security system.

Try A+ Maid Service. I've used them for 2 months now, and they're pretty good. Customer service is great, and they're thorough - not to mention affordable. If you end up using them, please let me know. I think they give you a free clean for referrals too.
