We've employed a landscaper to do yard etc on our new build. He uses a licensed irrigation company. There was a 'building permit. on the front window obtained by irrigation guy.

He has completed the work and waited for League City inspector to come by and sign off on the work. The inspector was a no show Thursday and Friday.

The irrigation guy told us that he called the city inspector and relayed that he "doesn't need to come out and just take the 'permit' down"!

Last place we lived (out of state) we didn't need a permit for sprinkler system, but don't want to start breaking local ordinances etc plus pay $$$ fines.

Any one else experience this?

Thanks.

Regardless of what the inspector said, and regardless of what the licensed company did or didn't do, YOU need to make sure that the permit is "finished/closed" (whatever League City calls it) at City Hall. Otherwise they will continue to hound you, and may eventually fine you.

I agree with tdhg566. I had my sprinkler system put in about a year ago and had to wait for the "green" sticker to finish up the installation. I would try to get something in writing and signed/dated with whom you spoke to

If the permit was issued, it has to be signed off to completion.

Thanks everyone for the information! Would this obtaining of 'signing off/closing of permit' be our responsibility or the landscaper?
