I read on another board today that there are rumors (again) floating around about Costco being built in Missouri City near the Ft. Bend Tollway or Sugar Land. Take you pic - I'm guessing that if Costco comes out this way, it will be one location to serve SL & MC - but of course, everyone would like Costco near THEM.

Does anyone have any new info to share?

We need a 4th Costco in Greater Houston (and the 1st in Fort Bend County, though sadly not in my part) to serve the SW side. A 5th might be appropriate for either the SE side in Clear Lake, a Far North/Montgomery County one in The Woodlands/Conroe or Kingwood/Atascocita, or perhaps one in the Far West to serve the Katy area.

I wish they come to Sugar Land as we drive from Sugar Land to Galleria for Costco. South East corner of 59 and University Blvd (Telfair) ?

I have to admit that I have never been in one - and I have heard they make Sam's look pitiful. Is that true? I am getting ready to renew Sam's and maybe I will just switch to Costco (I have one fairly close).

Yes...in my opinion, Costco is head & shoulders above Sam's. For me, the only true value of Sam's is that they sell Pamper's (I no longer use that brand) and they were more convenient to get to.

Produce, baked goods, prepared/refrigerated foods, frozen, etc...everything tastes better, is of better quality and there is much more variety.

If Costco ever lands around here, I won't be renewing my Sam's membership. Heck. I probably won't even renew my Sam's membership next year at this point...I so rarely go. I would go more often to Costco, though.

Totally true! So much so, that proximity/ease of access to a Costco was one of our major criterion when we bought our new home last year.

The produce and proteins are of much higher quality and lots of organics are available. They also have some great quality home and garden goods, decor items, clothing, electronics, etc.

They have an incredible variety of products and there is always something new...but grab it fast if you see something you like, because it may well be gone by next week.

And the employers are friendly, helpful and I can tell you firsthand that managers will go to the mat for you.

We actually have both. We love Costco because they have far better quality items and during the fall and winter their home decor items and holiday items rock! We drive all the way to Willowbrook so one over here near Atascocita/Kingwood would be marvie. They could easily take over and revamp the old Super K that has been been abandoned on 1960. AS for Sams we have a membership there due to convenience. We can not always make it to Costco.

rumors started up again that Costco was going to open three in the Houston area: Sugarland, Woodlands and Kingwood.

That would be great. I'd love one here in Kingwood.
