Hotel ZaZa in the Museum District! Beautiful hotel, beautiful area. It's the former Warwick Hotel and very centrally located near many museums, of course, Hermann Park, the zoo, and the Japanese Gardens. Close to the Medical Center and Rice University and Rice Village and convenient to downtown, Midtown, and the Montrose area.

NASA's Johnson Space Center is a big tourist attraction in Clear Lake, southeast of Houston. Some other tourist attractions are in Uptown Houston: Williams Tower (the former Transco tower), one of the tallest buildings in Houston, and the Water Wall opposite. It's a 64-foot tall man-made waterfall nestled among 100 or so Live Oaks within walking distance of the Galleria, another attraction if you're into upscale shopping. There are quite a few hotels in this area, too.

Try to visit the Heights, too, particularly West 19th Street. It's a nice place to while away an afternoon... the complete opposite of the Galleria experience. Charming antique shops and trendy boutiques, and if you get hungry, there's Carter and Cooley's, a deli, Cricket's, a vegetarian café, and Shade, a great restaurant all within walking distance. Onion Creek isn't too far away on 6th Street/White Oak.

Check out Bollywood Cinema 6 and I think a new one on Bellfort if you'd like to see a movie in Hindi with English subtitles. Not sure of the hours... call before you go! There are usually festivals going on... try ArtsHound and the Houston Press for other cultural events and nightlife you may be interested in. Be sure to check out their restaurant guide because you can't come to Houston and not EAT!

There's a lot to see and do. Helps to have a car to see and do it in! Have you tried the Houston visitor's guide? Depending on your interests, it should give you more ideas of how to spend your time here. Hope you have a great time!

Houston is not a tourism city. It's not New Orleans. But if you're here there's plenty to do.
