I usually don't have my neighbors helping me out. The women in your apartment complex must be needing help often? I'm not sure if one should help his neighbors that often.

Its not like it happens all the time but it's quite frequently compared to when I lived with my brother in the suburbs. I hated living outside the loop. My neighbors were super squares and all had badass kids running around. I'm staying with him until the end of the year because he had surgery but I'm gone afterwards. Plenty of women needing "stuff done" these days.

Well, I'm glad you are always up to helping others. There are some neighbors who would like to help me out too, but I didn't know it was common. Seems kind of awkward to me to help your neighbors. But I'm not judging you.

HAHA, to be honest most times its been solicited. Definitely not bragging but its just a reality. Lonely women in big cities need something close by. We have an understanding and I'm still friends with most if not all of them.

Maybe you just look like someone who loves to help his neighbors out. Maybe it's just a Houston thing. I'm always told Houstonians are friendly - always wanting to help out.

LOL @ modestmike / HoustonInhabitant

Glad to hear the locals are "friendly"

Thanks for the info on Sabine Mike... I do appreciate it. I did look at Alexan online and their insides are EXACTLY what I want. My concern was for the safety of the area. I must admit that it seemed a bit dangerous.

Thanks for the Post Rise suggestion. I'll check them out.

The area is very safe.

The complex is tucked away between highways and crossroads. The biggest danger is the skatepark across the street and that closes at 10pm (they kick out all the skaters at 10pm and a security guard mans the skate park).

Also that park by the Bayou closes at 11pm and there's another security guard on a bicycle patroling that entire park.

Post Rice is a very interesting building with a lot of character - I looked at renting there about 5 years ago. There are some really cool lofts in there. Unless something has changed, the biggest downside is that the units do not have washer/dryers - each floor shares common machines. Sad to say, this was a deal breaker for me.
