I am looking to relocate to Houston, hopefully in the next couple of months. this is a huge undertaking that we have never attempted before. I am a pediatric RN of 15 years on a surg/hem/onc unit. I am the single mom of 4 children--high school, middle school and elementary school...would appreciate any help with employment suggestions as well as safe communities with great schools, would like to purchase a home thanks

Texas Medical Center - Job Openings

You may or may not be aware that Houston is home to the Texas Medical Center which is a place where you are more than likely going to be able to find work. Within TMC is the Texas Children's Hospital.

I'm still young and don't have kids and I didn't go to school here in Houston, but the Medical Center and many other health care institutions are close to residential areas zoned to Lamar and Bellaire high schools which are two of the better academic Houston ISD high schools. Google can probably help you find some more info about the schools, or people here with more insight might be able to help. Craigslist is a good place to look for work, especially if you are looking for work in a pediatrician's office or someplace smaller as opposed to a large hospital.
