Since you asked about the commute at 6 AM I'd say it will be easy and take 30 minutes. I live in Sugar Land and fly out of Hobby a lot and even in a rush hour drive, using the beltway takes 40 minutes tops. We looked at Pearland to live but chose Sugar Land.

Thanks for letting me know. He will be starting work early and thought maybe that would help with traffic. We're just having a had time narrowing down a city. We like the concept of a nice master plan community like The Woodlands and heard Sugar Land was really nice. We researched Shadow Creek in Pearland but then found out there is a land fill right next to it so that was a big NO. What would you say was your main reason for picking Sugar Land over Pearland?

We looked at (not in any order) schools, crime, shopping, (we like Whole Foods Market), established neighborhoods, entertainment (Sugar Land is getting a minor league baseball team), we drive to the Hill Country frequently so saving a little on the round trip helped, and others. Some would look at the same stuff and make a different choice but for us it remains a good one.
