There isn't just one "best store" for all hardware/tools -- it really depends on what you're looking for or what you need for the project you're working on.

What Svensk said. With online shopping these days, it's pretty easy to compare prices on whatever it is you want. As for brands, again, it depends on what you're shopping for. (By the way, HD=home depot, it's a more masculine and rugged version of Lowes, at least in my mind.)

How come no one thought about a Ace Franchise anywhere closer to Southwesy Freeway ? The only store outside Beltway in the SouthWest region is at Hwy6 and Bissonet. Nothing around Hwy6/59 OR Main/Hwy59 (Fountain Lakes).
