Short sales are not working well now - big difference from even a couple of months ago. The banks seems to prefer to foreclose.

Hey, OP when you look on HAR do this.

If you like the look of the house when you first click the link then your next thing you should look at is the tax rate. If you're spending that much on a house I would avoid anything above 2.8% unless you like throwing away money. When the house is paid off you're going to be making luxury car type payments every month on a home that's paid off. And it could go alot higher knowing how the local governments love to raise taxes or somehow your house is assessed higher out of the blue.

Go south a bit more to Alvin and pay low taxes with actual land.

For 260 in the burbs, I would like some landscaping and a covered patio in the back.

I think that is the track that services the Parish Power Plant with coal. If that's the case it would have some pretty heavy traffic.

This is a website for out of towners. It wouldn't surprise me if real estate agents were lurking around on.

I don't lurk - I walk around.

It seemed to me that everyone was trying to talk him out of the house - which is what dadsearching meant.

I bet they are counting the garage as square feet in the $84 per square foot. Chances are if you convert it back to a garage you will lose the square foot and be paying more like $95 per actual square foot.
