I'm not sure if that has been mentioned by anyone else on here, but Sharpstown HS is actually ranked by USNWR.

High School Profile Page - Newsweek

Interesting.

It has been discussed. The school is extremely under rated. They have an excellent magnet and AP program. The only reason they are rated as unacceptable is because of their drop out rating, but that's because of the diverse student body who has to work to support their families. Their academics are well above par.

It jumps onto Newsweek rankings in the top 600 after never being ranked on it nor any other ranking system before.

But if you read how Newsweek created this ranking, it's by HOW MANY TESTS were HANDED OUT in each school. Handed out, not passed. So, if you give every senior an AP test all they have to do is sign their name and they rank....pffft. Sharpstown has about 450 seniors...AP tests are given in ENGLISH. Something doesn't seem right here does it?
