Oh no! Pappas Seafood House on 59 (between Hillcroft and Bellaire) is closing its doors on Sunday, January 23 at 9pm. What's going on. It appeared to be busy everytime I went there.

That wasn't an answer.

My guess is they are going to open a new one nearby. You said they had the business. Maybe a better or larger (or both) location became available.

Question, though. Did you ever go there and find it busy Monday - Thursday? Almost everywhere is busy Friday - Sunday.

Yes. The restauarant ran specials during the week. Wednesday was all-u-can-eat lobsters and Thursday was all-u-can-eat snow crab legs. When crawfish is in season, Monday was the all-u-can-eat day for crawfish.

I have seen busy restaurants go out of business because of very poor management - but that chain restaurant shouldn't have that problem. Since they were busy during the week, it may be just opening up a larger place nearby.

I don't know, but if you look around all over this city, you'll see a peppering of high square footage businesses and restaurants are closing their doors. Strip Malls, even in prime locations, have several vacancies.

Town and Country Village seems to be doing well, but the complexes on Voss seem to be limping. Couple things along Post Oak have cleared out as well.

Now if we can just cut down on the number of BANKS in this town. I think there's a Chase bank every 1/2 mile now/ I don't know how they can sustain that. The 2000s were the bank explosion decade.

Probably a remodel or moving to new location. Those restaurants do pretty well. Mandolas Gulf Coast kitchen in River Oaks is moving as well.

Hope it is a move further down 59 (Fort Bend County). I'll call them today and try to find out what occurred.

You need to give it a rest.

To EA: Yes, I know. I have 5 Chases within 2 miles of me. Yes, I have an account there - but I don't need 5 to pick from.
