We don't know the area at all as we live in Orlando.

We have 2 kids in TX with spouses and grandchildren with 1 family in Southlake and the other in Houston Galleria area.

We are retired, 57 and 63 and am looking at being nearer to them.

Would like 2500-2800sf for 500K and under pref. upscale.

Suggestions re lifestyle for retirees with no other family in the area than mentioned above.

Definately look at HAR.COM for listings. Walden is another community on the Lake. A little older and on the other side. You should be able to find something.

The above listing is a pond...in a not so favorite part of the city. sheesh people.

Here's an example of the area I'm talking about. Older, but still great. Middle of your range. Twain is a great street. Our family used to have a place on it. Walden still has it's own course and club. Not as glamourous as Bentwater, but same socio-demographic

A little over the top in style

But an example of what a little closer to 500k gets. Poe is another great street.
Good luck.

That does look more like it but the house looks like a duplex the way it fronts.
I'll check Waldon

I'd use HAR.com to browse around Lake Conroe, Lake Houston and Clear Lake areas. Your budget seems too low for a 2800 sq ft, single family home on the water, though I might be mistaken.
