Do people of all races really blend together in Houston or are they in their own enclaves?

like any large city it depends on where you live. people from similar regions/cultures do like to go where they have access to their community and what is familiar. but since houston is SO diverse it is not physically possible to be completely separate. in my experience some of the more far out suburbs will have less diversity.

houston, as in the city itself, from my experience is very tolerant of different ethnicities, cultures, beliefs and races. so they blend in that way.

In the workplace they do but I still see same ethnicities hang out within themselves.

How about subdivisions like Cinco Ranch, Sienna Plantation, and others?

I'm asking because my aunt and I were having this debate about people of all races being integrated, but in Alabama and the old South, alot of people are STUCK back in "those" days were people were segregated to the fullest. I'm not exposed to so much diversity. Our diversity is on par with Atlanta's or Birmingham's.

lol, there is nothing wrong with same ethnicities hanging out with each other. The thing is different ethnicities hand out with each other too.

Well its reported as the 2nd most integrated Metropolitan Area in the country after only the Bay Area by Eric Fisher a segregation expert analyst, and its been statistically proven by multiple sources including the United States Census Bureau. So no, its not "overrated".

Thanks. You know, coming from this side of the South, interracial mingling is still just now being "accepted."
