To jvuek:

We certainly apologize if you were frustrated with your home purchase. We strive to satisfy all of our homeowners in every community.

Some of our Superintendents are responsible for multiple communities, and that can create situations where they have to visit other homes during the day. However, we have multiple inspections, by independent inspectors, built into our process that ensure we maintain the same high standards in every community.

I've spent some time with one of the higher up's in Chesmar (outside of a home builder situation, as in he wasn't building me a home) and found him to have all the qualities of someone I'd like to do business with. All other things being the same I'd pick Chesmar because of that encounter, but that's me.

And while the Beer cans may very well be from the sub's building the house, I've stumbled across a lot of 'kids' in houses under construction, some up to no good. I've even found a car parked in a garage just after the roof was put on, and the couple in the car were.... well, shall I say pre-occupied. So if it looked like a party had just gone on, it MAY very well have!

Default Westin

My wife and I just closed on our house in shadow creek ranch and westin was our builder. We picked out the castlebrook because my wife fell in love with the floor plan. They gave us 10% in Incentives, which was gone when we left the design center. We did alot of upgrades but we thought they were over priced on the granite and tile so we closed Monday and today we have people removing the tile and carpet down stairs and installing the tile we picked out. It saved us alot of money doing it this way. Westin built us a beautiful home and they our very good builders. I know there is alot of bad reviews on them but they did a great job. They fixed everything that that needed to be fixed with no problems. Jay was our consultant and Todd was our builder.

Great. Congratulations! How much time did it take to finish your house after they hung the drywall?

Sapowell: Ughhh....we are so close to our Westin home being drywalled..probably another week or two. We went with the Wilcrest model, so if your Castlebrook was done @45 days later then that puts us right at the end of May, which is what we have been anticipating. How long till the house was done before you got to move in? We will be in a hotel for a little over a month by the end of May, so I am really hoping it won't be long. Like you, we decided to put tile in on our own. We want Travertine and if we do it ourselves, it will be over 50% less than what they were going to charge. So instead we spent the money on updating everything else I wanted!
