Hello all,
I would like to rent this space and it's a commerical space.
I called up the number that they have on the window and it took them forever to answer. It took them a week after I have left several messages to get back to me. They are the management company of the property.

We would like to meet with them and discuss/negotiate on the rent. They won't even meet. They sent us a 'package' which is basically an application. They won't even talk to us before seeing the application. They said that they need the application to make sure that we're qualified before even talking to us.
Now the worst part, they charge $2000 fee that is equal to 1 month of rent that we as renter have to pay for setting up the lease.

Is this normal? Has anyone done commerical lease before?
For residential lease, the landlord have to pay for the agent. For commercial lease, does the renter pay for that fee? I like that space but I'm very leery about the management company. Isn't it an incentive for them to rent out the space?

Do we need to go and find a agent kind of like having an agent for residential lease? Will we have to pay for the our agent as well?
