Houston ranks second among U.S. cities in trade with the Netherlands, according to a report released Thursday by the Dutch embassy.
The report, “Economic Ties between the USA and the Netherlands: Allies in Open Markets for Mutual Prosperity,” says that more than 63,000 jobs in Texas have been created through trade with Holland, and an additional 36,700 Texans work for Netherlands-based companies. The Netherlands is the fourth-largest foreign investor in the state, with its $9.4 billion accounting for about 8 percent of all foreign direct investment.
