Houston is huge. You will have to give more pertinent information to be able to get any kind of meaningful advice. The city is ringed with master planned communities in every direction, most all with good schools, similar housing stock and retail options. Price range will dictate a lot.

I'm very familiar with CO, so maybe I can help. Where do you currently live in CO, and are you looking for a similar community or neighborhood in Houston? What is your price range?

Modster and GettaClue: Thank you. Really loved Lakewood (sub of Denver). Also like smaller communities such as Castle Rock out of the Springs. Price range is under 200. Thanks again. I see Houston is a pop of over 2 mil. WOW! If I can get a few areas to start looking at that would be a great help.

Under 200 will only take you so far. You might want to check out west Houston near Westside High or affordable parts of Katy and then you could park and ride downtown on I-10.

Under $200K is very doable in lower Katy (even more so in upper Katy, but the schools are not as good).

Hi! I'm from Denver, moved to Houston l985. You will not find a Lakewood or Castle Rock here. But, you will find very affordable real estate and wonderful, welcoming people! Start here: Houston Real Estate - Houston Homes, Houston Home Value and Houston Relocation
Look at the HAR MLS area map and select area 8 - Hwy 6 -Copperfield
subdivision. CyFair School District. The downside to the area is Hwy 290 which is a nightmare commute, as I'm sure other posters will tell us.
Welcome, you're gonna love it here!
