Hey guys,

I will be visiting Houston this coming weekend and I just wanted to ask how much spending money should I bring with me. I'll be going by myself and I will be using a car to get around. Are there a lot of free attractions in Houston? How much is parking downtown on the weekends? What about food costs? Right now I'm working within the $150-200 range but can add more if necessary. Let me know what you guys think.

If you're the mayor of NYC, mind bringing your whole budget?

i think street parking DT is free on weekends. Not sure of free events this coming weekend but check out the Downtown website and the Discovery Green website for more info on events.

uh......I'd bring about $700+. Better to have more than enough than less. How long you going to be here and what type of car you driving?? Gas alone might run you about $150 lol

Street parking on metered streets is only free on Sundays. They charge at the meters on Saturday now.

Are you sure you want to come to Houston? Read through this thread and you'll see that southern hospitality is dead.
