We are potentially looking at relocating from the Austin area (not willingly... for a role at the BP corporate offices. I was wondering what neighborhoods/zip codes are close to this area. We will probably rent as this will be for a project so an area where there are rental units/upscale apartments for a family with 2 dogs and an infant are of interest as well. What areas should we focus on?

Thank you for your help.

77024 for upscale rental (CityCentre or Alexan at Memorial Bend. Townhouses at Hudson Oaks, The Pines,Somerset Place or Ethans Glen)
77079 for a house rental. Nice very family oriented area. BP is in the western portion of this area
77077 for house rental. Apartments not so much, unless on Eldridge...but those are more geared towards singles.

Of course there is all of South Katy to rent as well.

77077 has the highest concentrations of upscale apartments (pretty much entirely on Eldridge)
77079 has some older apartments, but look in to Marquis on Memorial (very nice upscale apt. homes, some with garages, but all with covered parking)
77024 has some townhouses and upscale apts in City Centre, but the cost is higher.

I lived in marquis on Memorial (formerly the Fleetwood) and AMLI on Eldridge and I'd choose Marquis way over, though the price is more.

Alternatively, house rentals are possible in all three areas depending on your price range.

If you have dogs, go west to Katy or the Fry road area.

Why? (Just curious). House rentals in 77079 and 77077 will almost surely accomodate dogs.

And if they're under 20 lbs, many apts will too

Just have to ask, why feel the need to add you don't want to relocate here...and then ask locals for advice? The people who have replied are certainly being more gracious than most of us would be.
