Our food IS good!

Houston is constantly ranked as one of the top culinary destinations in the country, according to the N.Y. Times, N.Y. Post, Esquire, and Forbes.

The link below is from Esquire and ranks Houston #7 in the country and the ONLY Texas city to make the top ten list.

Esquire admits Houston is a Top 10 restaurant city, the only one in Texas - 2011-Jan-03 - CultureMap Houston

I like:

- The cost of living
- The weather for 8 months of the year (Oct-May)
- The incredible diversity of people. You can come here from literally anywhere in the world and make a home for yourself.
- The incredibly diverse, authentic, and affordable cuisine (there's a reason every poster on here has mentioned it!)
- The friendliness of the people
- Being close to the Hill Country
- The healthy job market, even in the worst of the recent recession
- Stable home prices, even in the worst of the recent recession
- We didn't get a retired shuttle, but NYC did? So what? In the next week alone, a net of about 1,000 people will probably move to Houston from the NYC region to get away from the high cost of living/lousy winter weather/congestion/etc.
