Even though school has been out just a little more than a week, it’s not too early to think about getting any necessary shots and immunizations for your kids this summer. Remember the new requirements for older kids outlined here. Beat the lines and find a location near you…

Great advice elnina re: making sure your kids have immunizations during the summer, when there's not a stampede of crazed parents and kids all trying to get ready for school .

I'd encourage parents get their kids immunized at a clinic or doctor's office, so that their records will be maintained there, and available whenever you need it. Houston has many not-for-profit community health centers that offer free or low cost immunizations, and that have dedicated, qualified physicians. Search here for one that's close to you. For people in SW Houston, I'd recommend HOPE Clinic. The docs there are wonderful.

find a more reputable website before scaring someone away from a practice that has been done safely for decades

Why don't you get your head out of the sand and actually read something once in a while.

Most of us are aware of it, but you have to do it, if you want your kids in public schools/kindergarten/daycare. If you find a way around, or know private schools that accept kids without vaccine let us know... Some parents might appreciate the info.
Otherwise do what you have to do...

My first grandson had his designated vaccines until he was diagnosed on the spectrum. He was absolutely normal in every way until about age 2. They even have tapes of him being studied by some early childhood developmental grad students at Stanford. His younger brother has not had any vaccines. Their father does medical research. They are in private school.

You have never linked to a reputable source and your scare tactics are despicable.

There's a lot of health information on the web. Unfortunately a lot of it is bad, biased, or put together by people trying to scam a buck from you. Here are some legit sites for you all to review about vaccine safety.

Andrew Wakefield's study that linked the MWR vaccine to autism in children has been proven to be fraudulent, with bad science, and that he misrepresented data - Johns Hopkins School of Public Health.

The World Health Organization provides information on how to evaluate a web site, for assessing the merits of the site's claims about vaccines.

The American Academy of Pediatrics (http://www.aap.org/immunization/families/safety.html - broken link) discusses vaccine safety.

Go get your kids vaccinated.
