I wasn't aware we had an "official" nickname. "Space City USA" seems a bit dated now that the manned space program is on hiatus; "Oil Capital of the World!" is co-claimed by Tulsa (though their claim is weak comparatively). I guess "Bayou City" perhaps.

H-town seems as good as any to me.

I nominate "H-Town" also. It's got an eclectic sound to it. All in favor?

I am not in the poor class and I have always called my home H-Town and I will aways call it H-Town

So you live in Fondren SW huh? That speaks volumes. I used to live there in the 60s and 70s before it went into the crapper. The area has been terrible since the late 80s / early 90s. The wise folks got out of there years ago...
Don't let the door hit you in your old behind when you leave H-TOWN
