We will be moving to the north side of Houston soon... We are trying to figure out what location would work best for us. Anyone have any useful information on Conroe ISD. In particular Oak Ridge High School and Broadway Elementary... We were looking in Benders Landing if anyone has some information on the subdivision as well. Husband will be working around the Hardy and Beltway 8. Looking for something that is not too far of a commute.

Thanks

I see a recent Bender Landing's thread on the front page. Search for it.

You can also check out Klein ISD and the 77379 zip code on www.har.com. That might fit your needs as well.

Budget info would be helpful. Spring Trails and Bender Landing are completely different types of neighborhoods.

I was more so looking for opinions on Conroe ISD. (Which I don't see any very recent posts on) Im sure the schools around the Woodlands area are good... Just wondering how the schools that Benders Landing feed into stack up.

We have decided that Benders Landing is where we would like to be in that area. If the schools are good. I was just wondering if anyone had any positive or negative things to say about the neigborhood in particular.

I believe, for a family, the Woodland's is the optimum choice. Good schools, low taxes, neighborhoods in every price range, easy access to downtown via the Hardy toll road, parks and nature trails everywhere ...

sorry, based on research they seem ok. those schools feed into legends ranch, benders landing, spring trails, and oak ridge subdivisions.

I too will be moving from the heart of Houston out to benders. I have three kids all under the age of 5. Currently they are in private school. I'm not opposed to public as that seems like the route we will end up taking if we move. Can anyone speak from personal experience as to how Snyder, cox and oak ridge are in terms of education? exctraciricular? AP classes? Bullying? Overall good kids attending the schools?

Cox and York are pretty good schools, York offers all pre AP classes. Also math program, they hired high school teacher for kids who are skipping 1-2 years math. She's an excellent teacher.:-)
Very nice people in Cox and York, trying to work with kids. Great counselors in York. I believe, they have new principal in York right now. I don't really know elementary schools, my kids are grown already, but Broadway and Snyder should be better than good schools. In general, Conroe ISD is very good district. Oak Ridge High school is normal. Nothing special about it, but they will be opening new High school soon, and kids from your area( BL, Harmony, ST, etc) will be attending the new High.
