Hello,

Just had a few questions regarding Houston.

How safe is the city overall? Property crime? etc?

How much do average studios and one bedrooms cost?

Google helps but a lot of the answers are several years old :P

Thanks!

Crime and price depend on what part of Houston you live in. Lived her most of my life and never felt unsafe. Is there a specific area of Houston you are looking at?

Houston is a huge city and has all the acoutrements thereof, including crime.

I wouldn't walk down the street down there at 3:00 am by myself.

On the other hand, I can't think of many places in many cities where I'd be safe walking down the street at 3:00 am by myself.

Crime can happen anywhere. City-data has crime stats (read the Houston pages).

One thing about Houston: with no zoning, you can't "hide". You'll have a million-dollar neighborhood next to a slum (literally).

On the other hand, everything's convenient. No zoning = 3 grocery stores, 30 restaurants (and a porno place) within walking distance of my house.
