Or have at least tried? Took a trip to Brussels and became really inspired by the beer culture there. I've always been an advocate for foreign brews but I think its time I try my hand at my own.

there are a ton of do your own brew kits that you can get online or Whole Foods carries a brand. its a good deal of equipment so it takes up some space but its not difficult really. it is surprising how awesome the beer you can make by yourself is. will rival many of the $10-$16 a bottle beers you can find in well stocked retailers. just make sure you research what kit to buy and look up recipes

they even have associations you can join that send out newsletters and give you an official membership card. maybe that goes a little far but there is a pretty thriving competitive circle in the US for home brews

Can you keep all the stuff in the garage, or does it need to be climate controlled? I might be interested in getting into it since I have a lot of space in my garage, but really no room for it in the house.

One of our good friends has his only little micro-micro-brewery in his house. He moves in to different places depending on which stage it is in, and I know he frequently occupies one of their bathrooms with the different equipment. It is so interesting to watch!

This all sounds so interesting. I may check into the beer brewing. I did make some home made wine back in the 70's, tasted like hell but it sure had a kick.

start your trek at any brew supply store. they are everywhere. any good brewmaster can get you started. i've been brewing my own wine for the past 15 yrs, but not my own beer ... yet! being a part of the brewing community of this town, i can tell you firsthand, it is a community. in a nutshell, houston brews! brewers are everywhere here. it seems every subdivision has at least two or three guys that brew.

i loooove good beer. belgium is the motherland and the inspiration. but i just cant afford my beer outside anymore. i just cant. so its time to take matters into my own hands ... quite literally!

just ask the brewmaster at the store, thats what he's there for, and enjoy your new journey ... because thats what it is ... a journey.

Sound fun, and I have a friend that was really into it, but I personally don't have time and wife won't allow it in the house (garage is too hot). I'm more into beer tasting . I just hit up specs or other places in search of a new brew. .
