Don't forget the property taxes are being covered by your rent too. While the selling price to renting price seem off, you're forgetting the $8-$10K in annual property taxes.

I live in the North side of 1-10 (but not by much)..I live in the katy area..but work the south of 1-10 in the cinco ranch area..my house is really in a quieter area and not as dense..I prefer that..and we got a lot of good square footage for the money we paid. The South of I-10 seems more hustle and bustle..and rent prices are higher. Good luck
