I've done 3 houses using Discount Faux & Wood Window Blinds, Window Shades, Mini Vertical Blinds and couldn't be happier. They're actually located in Houston so the order ships quick. I do all my own measuring which is super easy and I've done the install work as well but they can point you towards a local person to handle the labor if you don't want to do it yourself. They have great prices, I usually do standard 2" white blinds but they have all types of options.

If you are looking for pretty standard blinds, I second www.justblinds.com. They are priced pretty well and are quick at shipping. Also, if you have an issue, they are quick to assist you in getting it resolved. I have used them at least 3 times for a couple standard wood blinds here and there, and have been pleased every time.

The last time was a longer window with long slats. The slats had been bent in shipping by the shipper and did not sit well in the window. I sent them an email to see what they could do about it and 2 days later there was a brand new set of blinds on my doorstep from Fedex. No questions asked or anything.

I live fairly far from Katy but used Katy Blinds and Shutters because they were so highly recommended on angieslist.com. I coudnt have been more pleased with their professionalism, prices, customer service and the installed products.

You can always use my basic rudimentary calculator. Measure your entire house windows first and add them to the calculator. Then shop around and get the prices from the various sites online or local vendors and you do the math, add the digits on red for each vendor to give you the total price for you overall window surface. Pretty self explanatory
