He's not even really living there. There is no electricity or water on. Putting a plastic lawn chair and a few possessions? Yeah. I agree with the above poster. Even if the bank that owned it went out of business, someone got their assets. And him bringing this house to the news will make them figure it out sooner or later. I'm in the camp of earning my way not jerking the system. I think this is going off topic for this thread so I'm going to stop posting on it.

Please learn the facts of the story before spouting off at the mouth.
He didn't just "find" a key.
He actually did his homework and was able to get the home LEGALLY.
Seems some people are just mad they weren't smart enough to think of it first.

The bank went out of business and apparently did not sell the home to another bank.
How is he causing stress?
The only people causing stress are his nosy neighbors who don't seem to want his "type" living in the neighborhood.

the paperwork is messed up right now but in a few years they will figure it out like you say. a bank/investment co will come around and find a claim to it and force the guy to pay for every back penny owed. there is never a truly abandoned home

I live in the area so I do know the facts. Let's see if he ends up with the house.

Living in the area does not automatically equate with knowing the facts, which you clearly are not aware of.
