SOme dude at my hotel said that MUST be a new driver. No way he doesnt notice his bed lifting.

It's just weird how the driver ended up crashing the truck up in the signage like that.

I drove past it (southbound) maybe 10 minutes after it happened. Traffic was so much worse than usual and I kept wondering what was going on because even all the big rigs were stopped dead and looking.

It did not appear that any other cars were affected but it was hard not to stare up to be honest!

An explanation from one of my other groups

That is one of those 40 foot dump trucks. If you look at the front of the trailer you will see a long piston. That is what raises and lowers the dump bed. Either a positioner valve mal-function or the driver accidently hit the up valve. I imagine the driver wet his pants when it happened. He will probably lose his job.

The driver will probably have to pay for much of the damage *and* he may lose his job.
