IMO it will be a boost to the area, but if you are not within walking distance of one of the stops, then not as much. I recently did a transaction on Parkwood and Bowling Green and the clients like it there. I have also had listings in the townhouses over on Calumet by Riverside Park where drug deals gone bad resulted in shootings within yards of their home. With transitional neighborhoods things can vary a lot depending upon what section, what block you are on. Drive the area at night as well. If you are looking there, like Travelguy said, I would also look at Eastwood, Idylwood and of course you know I am going to add Glenbrook Valley to the list.

It will definitely be a huge boost. Wherever rail goes, property values tend to rise dramatically. Midtown is finally a hot area after all of the rail development. However I would not recommend Eado,, Idylwood, or Glenbrook Valley. Eastwood does have the most potential but it's way to industrial for my tastes. Idylwood and Glenbrook are too close to the big refineries.

Idylwood, Eado and Glenbrook are not that close to the refineries.

Yeah they are. Eado is right next to that big coffee refinery and the whole area surrounding it is heavily industrial with lot's of heavy trucks running around. Glenbrook Park Golfcourse is literally 3 miles away from a refinery. Idylwood is like 5 miles away from the refineries. Don't get me wrong. Idylwood and Glenbrook have some houses that are absolutely stunning but they are too industrial for my tastes.

I thought you were talking about the refineries, in which case they are not close enough to be affected. The coffee plant smells like, you guessed it, coffee, which most don't find objectionable.
