I'm not talking about thugs and pimps and gang bangers and whor-s. Why would you jump to that conclusion?
What would a reasonable person do in a reasonable situation. I'm talking about somebody like the kid next door who is a very good kid any mother would by proud of.
If you were on the school board, would you think it reasonable for Klein cops to follow your kid all over north Houston? How about coming home from a friend's at 1 am on a Saturday night? He was not a student in the district. He had never been a problem to anybody. He was home from college. Scared the kid to be followed by cops all over town. It is 25 miles from 1 end of this district to the other.
Some kids were not on school property, playing ball. Some had beer. A principal appears at a private gathering, on private property. He tells them "who had beer, you will not get in trouble". Upon confession, the students are sent to the county juvie school. No question they should not have been drinking beer. He should have called their parents.
If we want kids to respect authority, then we need to model respectable authority. That means nobody lies. Even principals and cops. Just because a person is hired to do a job, does not give them the right or authority to hassle anybody. It just diminishes the cops in all students eyes. The cops may be having fun at someone else's expense, but they are getting the exact opposite result the district is paying them to achieve. That cost all of us money and creates grave doubt about the education industry.
It will probably turn me into a tea party school voucher supporter. They are closing in on the tipping point. This behavior is just speeding up the process.
If you want me to call the parents of 5 or 6 good students so that you can hear their testimony in private, I will be happy to oblige. Just remember the FBI agent who could not even obtain the education credentials of his kid"s teacher through the FOIA. He had to sue to find out the teachers qualifications.

Given that these events are true, they would be considered inexcusable, but until now they were not listed as the issues at hand. You'll excuse my jadedness at claims of prison-like treatment in KISD given I have heard nothing of a similar nature from the parents of the students that still attend.

You will never hear of anything unless it happens to someone you know. Hence the private police force. They talk the parents into arbitration with the district paying the arbitrator. No parent has ever prevailed in a case with the district It has to be over before the families snap to the fact they got played. You will never know of any case, because it happens in closed sessions at board meeting and is never made public. It is hard to find out what they pay outside lawyers. They are about the middle of the road in legal fees per head but there is nothing to indicate what the fees were spent on.
No child left behind requires schools adhere to a formula regarding safe schools. Certain amount of felony in 3 out of 5 years, i forget exact definition. That is why many ramped up their hiring of their own police. I cannot demand my child attend another school based on the persistently unsafe school rule if no one knows what is going on. I also know a girl who saw a gun fall out of a kids pants. She hot footed it down to the principal's office to report the incident. They spent 4 hours trying to convince her she had made a mistake. They would not allow her to call her mother. She transferred to private the next week.

I was there just a few hours ago, a real estate agent was going to show me a house close to Muller Elementary.

I still don't know where I'm going to pick the house, but I really like the area just North of Klein High School.

If by just norht of KHS you mean Oakwood Glen, its a very nice neighborhood, but some of the houses do tend to get neglected and I don't know what their quality was when new. Just do your due diligance and be thorough with the inspection. Can't go wrong with the location IMHO though. Right by the HEB and the heart of Klein.

Cool , i'm buying in Northcrest Village, which is right before Klein Oak. Its not too far in to access 2920. Because Gosling will be expanded at some point since it feeds alot of areas further in. Kuykendahl is being expanded already and should be done soon.
