We are thinking of buying a home in Katy (Seven Meadows near Westpark and HWY 99)

My commute is to the Energy Corridor, which shouldn't take more than 30 minutes on the worst days.

However, my boyfriend will be commuting to Sugarland (HWY 90 near 59). mapquest states that the commute is under 30 minutes, is this true?

Thanks!

For Sugar Land, I think you mean 6 near 59. 99 is Grand Parkway which should get you out to 59 pretty quick. I think you both should be in good shape.

Hwy 90 AT 59 is currently having a lot of construction on the Stafford side, and so is Hwy 90 NEAR 59 if you're talking about the Hwy 6 intersection or the area around the old Imperial Sugar building. It's still a close shout from Katy, but the construction may complicate things a bit. You may be able to find a good back road way around the mess if you pick up a key map and drive it a few times.

Welcome to town, and good luck!

My bad. I was confusing it with Highway 90 in Katy.

Its pretty close at 30 minutes. I drove it daily for several months at 9 am and again at 3pm; in each direction, both times. I did it for my preschooler who was going to school in Katy (long story)....

Default Katy to SugarLand commute...

I live in Katy, near Seven Meadows (close to Seven Lakes High School) and commute to Sugar Land every day. 6-6:30 am to Sugar Land and 4-5pm returning to Katy. When the traffice is thin-normal, 30 minutes is a good commute time. With heavier traffic, add about 10 minutes.

Yes, but a few years down the road may change that due to the growth heading that direction.
