I don't know whether I should tell this in this thread or not but I just wanna be frank. I came from China and when 9/11 happened, I was in the first year of my college. We watched the story onfold on TV, but I remembered many students cheered for America being attacked, I guess it largely because in 1999 Chinese Embassy in Belgrade was bombed by the US and the national sentiment against US afterwards.

All I knew was when I had seen Osama bin Laden's face, I was scared for a looooong time.

I was driving on 290 in heavy traffic to work. Couldn't believe what I was hearing.

I hope you didn't almost wreck. Hearing bad news while driving can cause such rewactions.

We've led sheltered lives. This kind of thing was routine in Europe before 9/11. Cumulatively-speaking, I daresay they've had more dead due to terrorist attacks than we have, even when 9/11 is factored in. The difference is that in Europe it was spread out over many attacks and decades, so there's always some level of anxiety there.
