I live in the Missouri City side of First Colony and all of the sidewalks in my neighborhood have buckled quite badly this summer. When I called to inquire about Missouri City repaing the sidewalks I was told that I would have to remove the trees in my yard between the sidewalk and the street because the roots would just cause the sidewalks to buckle again.

Now, directly across the street in my mom's neighborhood (which is in the Sugar Land zipcode) the sidewalks were all repaired by the city without any talk of tree removal. If you drive through the neighborhood you can see that they had to replace areas of the sidewalk in front of just about every singe house. All of these homes also have trees between the sidewalk and street. I am not sure why Missouri City will not make these same repairs. Is this just tough luck for those who live in Mo City?? It really makes the neighborhood look bad with all of the sidewalks busted up not to mention it is dangerous for kids riding bikes or people trying to walk especially at night.
Just interested in comments/suggestions.

Thanks!
