We are looking for a good Pediatrician in the Medical Center area. We need a doctor who visits Women's hospital when the baby is delivered.

Please advise.

Thank you in advance.

My son is only 6 weeks old but we use Dr. Angela Chia from Fannin Pediatrics. I delivered at Women's and she came to visit him there. Her bedside manner is fabulous and she takes the time to give you advice on the best swaddle and burping techniques. Obviously, I don't have a lot of experience with her since my son is so young but she was highly rated online and by friends with older children.

Dr. Bootin or Dr. Patti Savrick (same practice). Bootin saw both of my girls when they were born. I used a different pediatrician because I live in Humble. But I know these 2 physicians, and they are great.

Oops, meant to edit and deleted it instead --

We're planning on using Dr. Christa Filak, who I think is also with Fannin Pediatrics. We chose her based on a recommendation from a friend and also our doctor. We haven't met her yet (next week), but wanted to share the recommendation since we had a hard time finding someone nearby (i.e. inside the Loop), who took our insurance (and was highly rated by our insurance), and also had privileges at Woman's Hospital.

my wife delivered our son at Women's Hospital of Texas and the pediatrician there was very good. Dr Wanebo, is located at 7900 fannin (right next to the hospital). we took him there for his 2 week checkup, but are still trying to find a pediatrician closer to our house. we live close to the woodlands.....

As far as I know, Dr. Filak is taking new patients since she's seeing us next week for the first time. Might be worth a try.

One of my colleagues didn't have a pediatrician when his wife delivered at Woman's and they apparently had someone on call, whom they liked and decided that that doctor would be their pediatrician. So it's possible Woman's might be able to have someone on hand, which might buy you more time in finding a pediatrician.

Your other option might be to call your insurance and ask if they have a list of doctors who have privileges at Woman's.

Dr. Bootin is a great doc and most of our friends take their kids there. It's a shame she is not taking new patients at the moment. Not sure where you are in town, but if you are open to Pear Land we use Dr. Arnold Kagan (his son Ryan is also part of the practice). It's a farther drive but it's negated by the ease of parking at his office. Both the Kagans are wonderful. Our 7 month old was born at Womens and the Kagans have hospital privileges there.

Kagan Pediatrics - Dr. Arnold Kagan, Dr. Ryan Kagan, pediatrician, Pearland, Texas

Forest Pediatrics is a great option in The Woodlands.
