Not sure where you are moving from but do your homework ahead of time and if you can't imagine yourself living in NYC, LA, or Chicago then reconsider! Best of luck!
What didn't you like about Houston? Was it the traffic, hot weather, humidity, high property taxes, high home and car insurance, hurricanes, bugs, or crimes? Since most people seem to like it, it sure is nice to hear a different opinion. Can you elaborate a little bit? Thanks.

Northampton is zoned to Klein Oak High School - it is a 5A high school with an International Baccalaureate program [Mod cut - 10 post minimum to reference off site] Many foreign professionals and out-of-staters move to the Glenloch Farms neighborhood as well, which is near the HP Headquarters, also zoned to Klein Oak. It is a diverse school with a broad range of socioeconomic levels as well as racial diversity - quite different from the other neighborhoods mentioned.

I think the OP needs to give a better idea of what he can spend. Right now, we are listing a bunch of neighborhoods that few can afford. Furthermore, if the OP is looking for diverse it probably isn't wise to write off the entire SW side as it is likely the most diverse area of Houston. So, OP please tell us more about yourself!

Holy crap. Usually threads aren't dug up in the Houston forum. That is, unless someone is trying to make some sort of racist comment.

Yeah...I've noticed that.

If it makes you feel any better, I read through the entire thread, then went back to check on OP's other posts (I know... STALKING!) to see if he/she had actually settled in Houston. That's when I realized the thread was 2 yrs old.

Unless you live in the Houston/Heights, or Montrose Area, you really don't live in "Houston" all those other places are fine, but Houston, to me, is inside the 610 Loop. Great schools, and shopping, and like in the eye of a hurricane, not much traffic. Everybody is busy commuting to all of those out skirts of Houston places. Been here 35 years, and other than the heat in summer, spring and fall, love it. If ya have money, which I don't, then of course "River Oaks" and "Tangle wood" would top the list. Us regular folks live in the glorious Crime free Heights.

Expectant couple moving to Houston. Husband will work downtown. Trying to decide between buying in Spring Trails or Lake Shores. Does anyone have advice on these 2 school districts. Thanks

I would say that Houston is anywhere that has Houston as the address. Houston is not Katy,Pearland etc... but much larger than inside the loop! The Galleria is outside the loop...you dont consider that Houston?
