^^^ Prairie View has a couple of grad programs one being an online MBA.

One of the smartest guys I have ever ran across was a Prairie View grad, and I used to work with people from schools across the country. He literally always had 2+ part time jobs in addition to doing full time software support for the international space station ground control software. He mentored high school kids, took college kids to national competitions, did weekend DJ work, and was a nationally ranked poet. On some weekends he would take his kids to competitions in other states - driving there and back. In his free time he did iphone app development. Also he spent time with a charity based in the city sponsored by some NFL player. Right now he is doing presentations on HIS software design of a security system for the new proposed mission control center software. Prairie View puts out some good graduates.

That's because the college degree alone does nothing for you - there are a ton of finance and accounting grads from UH and many of them look identical in terms of their lack of professional experience and business savvy.

The ones that do well are the ones who take the initiative to complete an internship or two, who get involved at school and demonstrate leadership, and who make connections while still in school so that they can have a competitive advantage when pursuing a job.

I know a lot of employers look to hire from UH main and actually go to their campus and recruit large volume of students.
Reputable university career services offices do not claim to do job placement. When there are 7000 students for each career counselor (as is the case at UH Main), that would be completely unrealistic. The counselors can teach the students how to find and impress employers during internships, conduct an effective job search, and interview well when employers come to campus. The employers who come to UH want to find talent - the student has to demonstrate a measurable track record because employers aren't all that impressed by potential alone.

This means that students have to get started with all of this from the first year or two of college. The ones that wait until the semester they are graduating and think that the career services office will find a job for them, are going to be sadly disappointed.

oh sorry they didn't totally lose it for every school they were simply on probation for a year. those students must have been thrilled wondering if they just threw all their money down the toilet waiting it out.

couple factors helped them keep their accreditation. yeah wonderful school. the fact they have been in trouble more than once for not providing students an actual college education - really good

Do you have proof of this or are you just talking out the side of your neck??? TSU was never on probation for academics; it was finance and administration. All I see is a bunch of people complaining about TSU; yet have no idea what they're talking about.

First time:
Quote:
Texas Southern University has been placed on probation and had one year to get its finances on track.

The university has been struggling with money missteps and a spending scandal involving the former president, but despite all of that the students and the administration said there are brighter days ahead.

Second time:
Quote:
Texas Southern University has been placed back on probation by its accrediting body, almost six months after the agency had lifted the cloud.

Belle Wheelan, president of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools' commission on colleges, said the decision was made Tuesday because TSU has not provided an official audit of its finances, as well as of its financial aid program. No new concerns have been raised, she said.
