We are moving to west houston and want to live in an rural (or at least semi rural) area. We are currently looking into Fulshear. Does anyone know anything about Huggins Elementary? We are looking for good education, mixed with positive attitudes.
Any info would be so helpful!

I have no personal experience with Huggins, but it had a pretty good reputation ... Fwiw.

It will be crowded. I know from your other posts you were looking for small town life. Fulshear maybe fit that bill 10 years ago, but suburbs on 55' lots hug all around it, and it's about to be hit with a suburban boom. I know for example when we moved this way in 2007, westheimer lakes kids went to Huggins. You're talking suburban lifestyle, not rural lifestyle.

Now you may have decided after careful consideration that you don't mind the suburbs (closer commute). In which case, Fulshear is a nice place to live. It won't stay small for long. Be prepared for minivan bumper to bumper on old country roads

Just go into it with your eyes wide open!

Thanks for you honest reply. That is why this forum is so helpful. I am still looking out towards Bellville, but it is a longer commute to my work in Katy. Maybe something in between Bellville and Katy.. Thanks so much for your reply.

Maybe longer....nothing has popped up commercially in Rosharon and its location to the coast means certain hurricane path.

I was looking at homes in Savannah Lakes recently and the tax base is very high to have no type of commercialization out there. You have to drive miles for simple things such as a grocery store,

Take a look at the homes off of FM 529 - east of Bellville - in the area called Burleigh Plantation - would cut about 10 minutes off of your Bellville to Katy drive!

We are still waiting to welcome you with open arms in Bellville - people really do love it here as long as you are willing to drive a few moments to those things called retail establishments.

Thanks watchful! We are planning a visit to look at the area soon. Think that will really help when we see different areas and actually do some driving. Will def check out Burleigh Plantation!!
