My wife and I are moving to Houston. I have job offers from both FMC Technologies and Cameron. I am leaning towards the FMC offer just because of the location, i think we could live in spring. Any recommendations towards where to buy a house in this area or and job experience with either company would be greatly appreciated.

our budget would be under $175000 for a first home
we are from a small town in louisiana so we would like more rural that urban
we are looking for a safe neighborhood to start a life in Houston . . .

Spring is a nice place to live but isn't rural. You'd have to go farther out in surburbs to get a slightly more rural setting - Santa Fe, Conroe, Sealy, Alvin etc.

Go for Tomball. It can be very rural out there. Also, Mel's Diner is there!

There are about 5 locations for this company - four of which are in the north. Which location? Spring may or may not be your best bet. Other areas that could work are Cypress, Champions, and Tomball - depends which location.

How long of a commute to and from work would you be ok with?
